4th Annual North Shore Ocean Fest, Saturday, 6/6/15, Turtle Bay Resort. Free benefit for ocean education for children. There will be arts & crafts, a film, hula, food & live music. For more information see here or call 808-255-6944 or email dotty.hoh@gmail.com

 

Honolulu Gay Pride Parade, Saturday, 6/6/15, 10:00am-12:00noon, sponsored by the Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation. Over 400 marchers, 4 floats, 12 vehicles and 2 bands are expected. Parade starts at Ala Moana Park near the Atkinson/Ala Moana Blvd intersection then goes through Waikiki along Ala Moana Blvd & Kalakaua before ending at Kapiolani Park. More info here

 

50th State Fair at Aloha Stadium, 5/22-7/5/15 (weekends only including Memorial Day), $5-$35 depending on the day, but little kids are free & so is military on Memorial Day. Hours vary but generally 6pm Fridays, 4pm Saturdays & 12:00noon on Sundays. Closing is between 11pm and midnight depending on management’s call. 1st Annual Sailor Jerry Festival in Chinatown, Friday, 6/12/15, 6:00pm-2:00am at multiple venues. Festival honoring “Sailor Jerry” and his Chinatown roots. There will be live music, cabaret, a pinup fashion show, dj’s, hula and more. $5 for one venue for $10 for all. More info here

 

Pan-Pacific Festival, Friday-Sunday, 6/12/15-6/14/15 in Waikiki. Cultural festival with a heavy emphasis on Japanese culture. Various performing arts, hula and a parade on Sunday, 6/14/15, 5:00-7:00pm in Waikiki starting at Ft. Derussy park on Kalakaua Ave and ending at Kapiolani Park. More info and the schedule here

 

99th Annual King Kamehameha Floral Parade, Saturday, 6/13/15, 9:00am-2:00pm. The parade includes a representation of the Royal Court with King Kamehameha riding a horse followed by a procession. The route starts at Iolani Palace downtown then goes through Kakaako, then down Ala Moana Blvd and then through Waikiki down Kalakaua Ave before ending at Kapiolani Park. Over 6,000 marchers, 50 vehicles, 10 floats & 8 bands are expected. More info here

42nd Annual King Kamehameha Hula Competition, Saturday, 6/20/15, 1:00pm at the Neil S. Blaisdell Arena, $8.50-$24. Competitors come from around the state of Hawaii, the mainland, Japan, Mexico and Canada. More info here


Waikiki Artfest, Saturday, 6/20/15 & Sunday, 6/21/15, 9:00am-4:00pm, Kapiolani Park by the Waikiki Shell. 70-100 artists & crafters will be selling their wares along with live music & food. Metered parking available in the area.
