Celebration of Okinawan culture through dance, traditional costumes & customs, lions, drummers, entertainers & food.




oahu events aloha festivalAloha Festival-Local festival whose mission is to foster "Aloha Spirit" while at the same time celebrating & preserving the Hawaiian culture.

Lots of music, dancing, history, food & cultural activities. The key events during this celebration in September are:



Saturday, 9/5/15-Royal Court opening ceremony with a traditional chief & hula dance; Royal Hawaiian Hotel & Shopping Center Royal Grove Area, 2:00-4:00

Friday, 9/19/15-Waikiki Ho'olaule'a (block party in Waikiki) on Kalakaua Ave; food, Hawaiian music, arts & crafts such as lei making, hula & lots & lots of food!

Saturday, 9/26/15-Floral parade, 9:00am-12:00pm, starting from Ala Moana Park, cutting through Waikiki along Kalakaua Avenue & ending in Kapiolani Park.

festivals in hawaii hawaii food and wine festival5th Annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival-On Oahu the dates are 9/9-9/13/15.

Culinary festival featuring some of the world's renowed chef's who will be showcasing the local cuisine of Hawaii.

Events will include wine tastings, cooking demos, excursions & dining opportunities.

Most of the venues take place at hotels in Waikiki, Ko'Olina and the Hawaii Convention Center and have ticket prices ranging from $225-$1,000 with limited seating. Learn more

46th Annual Waikiki Roughwater Swim, Saturday, 9/5/15, 8:30am from Sans Souci Beach. 2.384 miles race that attracts over 1,000 swimmers from around the world. They basically swim from the New Otani Beach Hotel to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Race details here

Choice of a 1,000M or 1,800M ocean swim followed by a 5K run through Kawela Bay.

HawaiiSlam's First Thursdays Slam Poetry Competition, Thursday, 9/3/15, 8:30-11:30pm, $3 before 8:30, $5 after. $100 prize to the winner. Hosted & located at Fresh Cafe Warehouse aka “Loft in Space” in Kakaako. Also features live music, live painters, MC’s, national touring poets & DJ’s.
