Arts & Crafts

art on the zoo fence

Hawaii is unique in that most of the talent is locally based and inspired by the landscape and nature. There are painters, crafters and sculptors. Their creations can be found in local art galleries and small shops throughout Waikiki but other options exist as well.

The farmers' markets, the flea market at Aloha stadium, craft fairs that take place periodically and also at the Art on the Zoo Fence which is on the back fence of the Honolulu Zoo (Monserrat Avenue). On weekends participating artists display and hang their art on the fence. It is an opportunity to meet the actual too.
