Biking Oahu is a GREAT way to get off the beaten path and submerge yourself completely in Mother Nature all while having an incredible adventure. It's one of my favorite activities in Oahu.
Basically you can decide to go bike riding in the country in gorgeous Kaaawa valley next to Kualoa ranch and valley or you can stay on the Honolulu side of the island.
In Honolulu you get to go biking downhill through the rainforest of Tantalus while taking in the view of the city and ocean down below. It's truly breathtaking.
Both perspectives are unique and incredible but my favorite would be to do it in Kaaawa Valley because hey after all this is Hawaii and nowhere else are you going to find something unique like that.
Kaaawa valley is similar to Kualoa valley in that it has the majestic backdrop of the Koolau mountain range with its rugged green peaks and wide open spaces that stretch for miles.
To give you an idea of how beautiful it is Kualoa valley has been the film location for such iconic movies and television shows such as Jurassic Park and Lost. While biking along dirt roads through this sacred and historical valley you'll be able to see the ocean below.
There is no need to worry about adapting you particular skill or fitness level to the group because the activity can be catered and tailor-made to fit you.
Many of the trails are loops and if you want to go ahead or stay behind at a slower pace it doesn't matter because you will all end up in the same place. Whether you're an avid biker or a family with a couple of kids it doesn't matter.
There are different options and combos available. Almost all of them include lunch and all include round-trip transportation. Exploring by bike is a great way to see hidden parts of Oahu that are normally inaccessible by car.
